Edmond Bootcamp Is Moving!

Posted by

3 years ago in June we had a vision of something awesome. Something different for fitness and call it whatever you want, bootcamp or group training, it was a way for us to help as many people as we can and get people involved in fitness that needed something more than the typical big gym experience.

We signed the lease for our gym the same day our daughter Riley turned 3 months old. We took faith and ambition and ran eyes closed into what is now Evolution Personal Training.

The picture to the left is one of our first classes (yes that is Randy and Ann) and we were packed before we ever even got our equipment.

Notice how fun it used to be when you got a mat, a dumbell and your favorite kettlebell and that was it! Oh I miss the good old days.

Sorry its blurry but it used to be a one man show. I used to teach all 20+ camps and I was probably yelling at someone and trying to take a picture.

Things were great from the get go and we had almost everyone that had participated in our outdoor version join us indoor. Things were rockin!

So much in fact that when we approached about expanding into the entire building we could not turn it down.

So there we went again only this time I spent weeks covered in paint climbing up a scaffold to get things ready then run back to teach a bootcamp or train a client. Running on pure adrenaline somehow I managed to get it ready for Riley’s first birthday!

As we finished the expansion we have had some our biggest camps ever and honestly completely blew away all my predictions.

In the past 3 years we have had over 3100 people try our bootcamp. Some people just once and some of us every day but what an amazing thing it is to have helped that many people open their eyes to what is possible in fitness and for themselves.

The picture on the right is a Saturday morning at 9am with 43 people!

Now comes the really fun part! In less than 60 days we will be moving to a brand new building.

It’s only a block away so don’t worry but it will have all the greatness that is Evolution Fitness only new and pretty.

It is located at 630 W Edmond Rd. So from our current location you will go North on Kelly to 2nd St and then right or East .25 miles.

On the South side of the road you will see the building in the pictures below and that will be our new home very soon.

I want this to be only the beginning of what is in store for Evolution Fitness including offering new bootcamps for beginners and the return of Bootcamp H.E.L. (Human Evolution Lab) our advanced bootcamp.

We will also be pioneering a new small group personal training program similar to bootcamp but with only 3-5 people per class for more attention and faster results.

Stay tuned to this site for all the updates and progress but make sure you get a chance to sweat it out every last day of Edmond Bootcamp before our big move and our brand new AC units!!!

Edmond Fitness Boot Camp Reviews Uptown Grocery

Today was the opening day for the brand new upscale grocery store in north Edmond called Uptown Grocery Co. I have to say that I am personally excited because I live right next door to it so I went right at the opening to check it out and give it my personal review for you.

1. I have to say that it looks awesome The style in very Whole Foods but reminds me more of Crest in the fact that it doesn’t smell like health food supplements and fish.

2. It is refreshing to see that while they are taking huge strides in bringing healthier options to Edmond OK they are not taking themselves too seriously by limiting their selection. Being that this will be my grocery shopping solution, I can get everything in one spot instead of making several trips because not 100% of everything is organic.

3.  The ready to eat options looked great. It was 9am so not everything was done but the selections will be presented well and give Edmond great alternatives. They did have UNHEALTHY options like fried chicken so this place is not a “Pass Go Collect $200″ type of scenario. Use your judgement

 4. Spacious and lots of “outer perimeter” foods. Everything on the outside is fresh and refridgerated. In particular the Marketing done inside the store was typical and they had food testers (possibly an opening day event) tasting healthy options you might not normally try.

Overal, I am very excited. Obviously I did not go shopping so I cannot testify for prices but I am very excited to have this option to send all of you to be better everyday.

This is just in time because as of this summer is right at 3 months away and time isnt going any slower!

Come see us at Edmond Fitness Boot Camp and Evolution Personal Training to make sure this summer is one to remember!
